In LDS wards it's the norm for unmarried young adults to attend the "singles' ward" together. Yes, much of what you've heard about Mormon culture putting a lot of emphasis on marriage and relationships is quite true. Which is by no means a bad thing. It's the pressure some feel that you gotta watch out for.
On a different note, can I just say I'm quite pleased with that hand? That's a nice hand! :D

@Ryker: It might not happen that way, I've known tons of people that meet in a singles ward and are still married years later.
